Ultras kill four, blast bridge in J&K
Militants slit open throats of two women, killed two more persons and set off two explosions damaging a bridge in Kashmir valley today, official sources said here.
A widow and her daughter were brutally killed by unidentified militants who raided their house in Aragam village of Baramullah district in the wee hours, the sources said adding their throats were found slit with some sharp edged weapons.
They said the motive behind the killing was not known immediately.
A report from Baramulla said militants last night triggered a powerful improvised explosive device (IED), destroying the bridge over Chanli Nullah which linked more than 20 villages to Bandipora.
Meanwhile, militants shot at and critically wounded a BSF jawan at Hawal in down town last evening. The injured jawan succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
In another incident, the ultras shot dead a person from Paner village in Tral area of Pulwama district in north Kashmir this morning, the sources said.
Sources said the ultras blasted a wooden bridge at Sumlar village in Bandipora area this morning.
The window pans of some residential houses located nearby were also damaged under the impact of the explosion.
They also detonated Improvised Explosive Device at Kulangam in Kupwara district today when some army vehicles were moving on the road.
However, the blast missed the intended target causing no loss of life or damage, the sources said.
