"So now the "ballistic identification" law is going to include shotguns."

"That should be interesting."

Last time I looked there was no rifling in any shotgun I own. But don't expect Schumer and The Worlds smartist woman Hillary to figure that one out.

It can only mean that they want sample test-fired shotgun shells for the computer data bank programs.

They put a lot of faith in firing pin and chamber marks.

The only way to make that work at all is to make it illegal to perform any work on a gun without retesting it at state bllistic ID labs each time.

Yeah, we also know that .50 caliber firearms are the gangbanger's choice for blowing peoples' heads off. Just the other day I saw a thug carrying a huge thirty-three pound .50 BMG rifle with an eight pound .50 AE Desert Eagle stuck in his sagging pants.

You can, of course, purchase rifled shotgun barrels to improve the accuracy of slugs designed to take advantage of them. But of course, that is the point - anyone can buy an alternative shotgun barrel of many different kinds any time they want and switch it; it must take all of two minutes.

This picky detail aside, your point is correct

How the hell are they going to get any "fingerprint" from birdshot or buckshot?
