Semi-Trailer Truck Stopped on GW Parkway

I don't know if anybody else has seen anything about this, but I was just walking by the breakroom here at the office, and Fox News was airing a live helicopter feed of a truck stopped by the Park Service on GW Parkway. This one of the main roads into DC, IIRC.

Yes, I saw it per Foxnews. Fox said that they have brought in bomb sniffing dogs and the bomb disposal unit. They were showing a white semi-truck with what looks like writing on it. Can not see what the writing it.

Is GW Parkway the road leading from Maryland to DC?

Tractor trailers and large trucks over a certain GVW are not allowed on GW Parkway.

The road is policed by the NPS Park Police and will ticket anyone for almost anything.

According to Fox, the truck was stopped and sniffed by dogs. The dogs detected explosives, and the bomb squad is now on the scene.

I saw it,too.These trucks are not allowed on the parkway but I don't think they call the bomb squad on the ones they stop routinely.

Not able to see this but I would think that if the truck has stopped and all is still quiet than it probably will end that way and the truck will continue on.

I just can't see terrorists (if that's what the suspicion is) giving up to a few police officers when they have a tractor-trailer loaded with explosives and are within RPG range of the White House.

FNC claimed it was a beltway road and passes by the C.I.A. building(s). NO trucks are supposed to be using it.

The GW Parkway runs along the Virginia side of the Potomac River from about McLean down past the Pentagon and Reagan National Airport thru Alexandria and down to Mt. Vernon.

I certainly hope you're right. It's just a little unnerving with all the other terrorist activity going on right now. Another thought: It may be a diversionary tactic, which is why it pulled over at all. (thin tinfoil)
