I like Salam Pax. He's not pro-US, but he gives his perspective, so when he says something complimentary, it's credible.

Some have critisized him because he said he'd join the Iraq commie party, if they changed its name. I don't take that to be a statement in favor of Communism, but a statement in favor of change. I don't think he really understands communism.

He's overtly subjective, familiar with Western culture, and not tainted by our media biases--just his own.

Interesting read.The commies were first on the street with anewspaper,I think.They were organized.Religious leaders have the mosque audience.I don't believe the majority want Islamic government but organizing will be like herding cats.The Islamists are flexing their muscle about unIslamic things tolerated under secular rule.No one said this would be easy.

Most people believe that Salam Pax is either a Baathis agent or the spoiled son of a Baathist party member who is anti-US but cynical about the regime, too. He is praising the communists now.
