Some of the 'collection tactics' used in the workplace have all the subtlety of a mugging.
A company I worked for long ago supplied volunteers to the UW to collect from small business owners. They were shown how to harass and threaten reluctant owners to force them to contribute. One volunteer said that they had targeted an owner to put out of business because he wouldn't contribute. They put in endless calls to him for estimates at non existant addresses and other things to distract him from conducting normal business. I heard this in the context that they wouldn't have to worry about him next year because he wouldn't be in business. Sort of like the strong arm tactics used by some companies to get 100% contributors.
