Headline: 'Muslim United Army' claims responsibility for Karachi blasts

KARACHI: After a passage of two days, a relatively unknown organisation - the "Muslim United Army" -- has claimed responsibility for the blasts at the petrol pumps of two oil companies and warned the government that if it continued to take anti-Mujahideen-e-Islam steps, then the outfit will launch massive attacks.

Low intensity explosive devices rocked 21 gas stations of Shell Pakistan and Caltex, situated in the nine towns of the city in the early hours of May 15 (Thursday). However, the blasts did not cause any major damage or loss of life.

On Saturday, a message, faxed from an undisclosed location, belonging to the Muslim United Army (MUA), which claimed to be an alliance of Jihadi organisations, was received in the offices of The News, Karachi and some other media organisations in which a spokesman for the outfit claimed responsibility for the Thursday blasts.

The blasts were only a warning to the pro-American government of Pakistan and if the raids, arrests and torture on Mujahideen by the American agents are continued then the blasts of 250 grams of gunpowder will convert into 250 kilograms and next time the targets would also be changed, the message stated.

Further, the MUA has the ability to launch massive attacks against America, its allies and its paid agents and will punish the Americans for the massacre of oppressed Muslims in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine and other parts of the world, it said. "The Mujahideen will attack American interests throughout Pakistan and would continue their struggle till their elimination from their homeland," the spokesman said.

"The Amir (chief) of the MUA, Shaikh Ahmed, has already been committed to complete the task, given to him by Asif Ramzi (the deceased chief of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi), till his last breath and the Mujahideen are united and organised under the leadership of Shaikh Ahmed."

In a further warning, it was added, the government would pay the cost of awarding death sentence and life imprisonment to Shaikh Omar, Imran Siddiqui, Muhammad Hanif, Akram Lahori and other Mujahideen and to keep secret the arrests of other Mujahideen leaders including Qari Asadullah, Naeem Bukhari and Faisal alias Zubair.

How long is it going to take for people to realize that Islam and terrorism is the very same thing? Oh Lord, how long? People are perishing because of this ignorance!
