Legally, President Bush isn't allowed to do this. He's not allowed to make treaties that effect the internal laws of our nation.
What's next? This is no more a legal act it than it would be if President Bush promoted an international treaty banning private ownership of handguns.

I agree. I guess Thompson ooesn't see the implication, that we are subordinating out sovereignity to the UN over this, allowing the UN to chip away at our freedom of speech, thereby superceding the Constitution. Today "just a minor thing that everyone agrees with, that tobacco is bad for you and people should be prevented from using it, even though it's perfectly legal", tomorrow it's the food, they have already been working on UN resolutions to take away the indiviual's right to own a gun....
So when are we going to throw out our Constitution and adopt the UN's? (/sarcasm)
