I've always found that if you want to put spoilers, putting it in white font works well. Tell people that you are going to put a spoiler in in white text, and voila. Like this:

In order to make text be in white, use the following:
<FONT COLOR="WHITE">Whatever text you want to not have be seen unless the person manually selects it here</FONT>

To see the text, just select it (either using your mouse or doing a control-a).
