Many people are missing the significance of the Dance/Love scene in the film

I hear a lot of talk about this "DANCE SCENE". Goodness... It must be a spectacle to behold.

I'm sure I'll enjoy the film. And like I said, I'm sure I'll see it more than once (especially after I buy the DVD). Again, when I saw the Matrix, I didn't immediately put it down as one of the best movies I ever saw. It was only later that I put it in my top 10. I expect the same process to happen here.

But bottom line still... It couldn't possibly be worse than Solaris. There's a film that made me want to grab the director and shake him violently.

Well, I should say, I liked Event Horizon.

The Dance scene is not very graphic, it just may seem to some to be out of place, considering where it happens in the movie. I wish there was a 'spoilers' thread where we could discuss it more, but I don't want to ruin it for you.

I think a lot of people were chomping at the bit for some serious kung-fu right from the gate, but were instead treated to the somewhat 'tribal' dance scene. After 4 years, many forgot to manage their own expectations and remember that there is a real message to the film.

Do what I did. Buy tickets for two showings, so you can see it back to back. You will miss much in the first viewing that you will want to understand after you see the way they cut the ending.

I, for some reason went to see Solaris. It was the only movie that I have ever seen that people left mid-way through. By the end, my boyfriend and I were the only ones left in the theater. I thought the movie sucked, but for the cost of the movie ticket, I wasn't going anywhere.
