I don't really have the money for it, but if this ban goes into effect, the first thing I'm doing is buying an M1A. I would say AR-15,.... Forget the small-caliber AR ....I'd rather have a Springfield MIA .308 with a 20 round mag (still available) any day.

20 round mags aren't available to me in this godforsaken state, not even pre-ban ones.
You cannot transfer pre-ban items here anymore.
And I'd rather have the AR-15 because the smaller caliber .223 has much less recoil than a .30-06 or .308 and thus is better for (accurate) high speed fire.
I'm preparing a vz24 bolt-action in 8mm for the stronger stuff.
