The "democracy" is sitting on top of TX politics this weekend, buoyed by friendly newspaper writers like Bob Ray Sanders and Dave McNeely. They say the "little people" {Democrat voters} have won against the "big interests" {DeLay}.

They may indeed have "reinvigorated" their ever dwindling ranks, but foremost they clearly defined themselves to the vast majority of voters. The democratic (sic) party faced with their failure in the democratic process has taken the ball and run home with it. The party now relys on obstruction and delay in a manner not seen even when the same party engaged in it during the civil rights era. These are acts of desparation and people recognise it as such.

These people are not Texans, they are Democrats. This is what today's 'rats have become: scum who make and break rules to fit their power-mongering agendas. All I know is that when any elected official pulls a stunt like this, he is willing to pull the rug out from under anybody, be it "big guy" or "little guy." Man! Political theater straight from the rabble's playbook, cheered on by people who were too lazy - or self-important - to be anything but journalists.

Sick.

If Democrats are this willing to go against the will of the voting public to thwart the legislative process, are they also just as willing to engage in vote fraud to gain or stay in power? Just one of many questions that comes to mind about the integrity of Democrats.

State Rep. Elliott Naishtat (D-Austin) said he did not fear reprisals from Speaker of the House Tom Craddick (R-Midland) or other GOP House leaders on upcoming bills backed by Democrats. "I don't think that will happen. There has been too much publicity. Speaker Craddick will look even worse than he did if there were to be any retribution," Naishtat said.

I don't understand WHY NOT????? There must be plenty bills that could be taken up and just avoid theirs, they should understand why it was done. Especially if they think they have won.

but yes, they will lose big time in the next election, IF there is a Republican candidate!!!
