BURBANK, CALIF. -- "Cool breeze off the mountain." Could there possibly be a better description of Keanu Charles Reeves' demeanor than the translation of his Hawaiian first name?
Uncorrupted by his massive renown, he keeps the world at arm's length, unlike megaphone-addicted stars who gratuitously expose us to their nightly club-hopping, their affairs, their trips to rehab.

Reeves genuinely seems to be a decent, not very self-involved guy striving to keep it relatively real despite being monstrously famous. The single most interesting thing about him is that he's so quiet and -- well, cool.
Instead of always complaining about stars who can't shut up, I thought this would be good to compliment an actor who seems like an decent guy. I don't know how he votes, which is fine with me. I also think Jackie Chan is like this.

It would be interesting to spend a day with both Mr Reeves and Dennis Miller.

I agree. I don't care about their politics - as long as they're not lecturing me and shoving their beliefs down my throat. They're job is to entertain, so shut up and entertain already.

Great post. I did not know this and just saw Reloaded today. Very cool. Can't wait until November.

Hard to believe what happened to half of "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure"!

I especially liked the part about his generosity to other "lesser" people in the film. That is quite decent of him and I respect him for it.

He seems to be a pretty cool guy.

In a few months he will be a very wealthy man for the rest of his life and he is so unassuming. I very much like and respect him.
Once on Fametrackers I started a subject of people making up show business terminology. Someone came up with "The Keanu Ratio". That is the ratio of mostly flops to a few hugely successful movies that is sufficient to keep your career going. Like a golfer who hits three lousy shots and compensates with one stupendous one.
Several years ago I read that his sister had cancer. Does anyone have an update of this ?

Several years ago I read that his sister had cancer. Does anyone have an update of this ? True. I believe that during the filming of Reloaded and Revolutions she had a relapse and he left the set to be at her side.
