LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Bruce Lunsford, a millionaire businessman who sank $8 million of his fortune into a bid for governor, abruptly dropped out of the Democratic primary Friday, four days before the election.
Lunsford cited a devastating set of campaign commercials unveiled Thursday by his chief Democratic rival, state Attorney General Ben Chandler, that talked about abuse of patients in the nursing homes Lunsford's company operated.

Fix the title of this article. Spell it "Governor." Thanks in advance.

KY likes the Chandlers but not as much as LA liked the Longs! "Happy" Chandler had his "ups" and "downs," but he was shrewd enough to focus on the "ups" and dismiss the "downs." Time will tell if Grandson Ben is another "Happy." I think the original "Happy" was much more conservative than Ben.

Hmmm. My father-in-law, Amos Lunsford, was recently (just last week) diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer. The prognosis is very grim. I'm sure this had something to do with Bruce's decision to pull out of the race. Surely he didn't want his dying father to hear all this mudslinging.
They are very close and this would cause Amos a lot of pain. He'd also be very upset to if he thought Bruce pulled out of the race because of his illness.
