I heard this on Garrison's show thismorning while I was mopping. Boy, is this superintendant going to regret his smarmy decision. By now, it has hit Drudge, and people have sent it to Hannity and O'Reilly!
Garrison was really hot about it, because the Indianapolis Children's Choir, of which this girl is a member, is nationally known. They tour Europe and make appearances all over the USA.
This is a giant blunder by someone who is no doubt a democrat, and I will bet the school board calls him on the carpet.

Love that it made Drudge. Between him and F.R., tons of people are going to see this.
As mentioned above, I emailed it to Hugh Hewitt... Keep it going, folks! :)

If her choir makes many national and international appearances, you can bet that either she or other students from her school have had absences approved in the past. This will make it extremely difficult, if not impossible, for his decision to stand.
If it had been my child, as soon as I was told that the absence was unapproved, I would have sat down with the superintendent, and "politely" demanded a complete list of every absence that had been approved for any student in the previous two years. I further would have made it clear that if any approved absence in the past came close to being political in nature, then I would move mountains to have the idiot reprimanded at the very least.

He already is backpedaling. If no one else has already, I'm going to post his latest remarks in a new thread.
Basically he says his decision >may< have been wrong and he's now reconsidering the the situation.

The discipline and musical knowledge that the choristers acquire far surpasses much of what they'd get from school. IMO, she should be getting extra credit for participating and encouraged to be part of anything the choir does, whenever it happens. Our son belonged to a similar choir years ago, and still draws on his experiences there.
