I hear tell that the Texas House has caved. So much for Texas "courage", at least as it relates to their elected officials...

Just to let you know, I am proud of our President from Texas.
I am ashamed that the Chicken D's are from Texas.

That's too bad. Living on the left side of Oregon, I at least held out some hope that my home state was the last bastion of political integrity. When the Republic (of Texas) falters, what's left?

I need to say that I am shocked, SHOCKED(!), and saddened by the behavior of the democraps in the Texas House and the apparent inability of the Republicans to do anything about it. Clearly, they will repeat this maneuver with any and every bill that they don't like that they can't stop by normal parliamentary dirty tricks.
I hadn't realized until this morning that the bill was to expire last night. Can the bill be reintroduced and the doors to the chambers be chained until it is voted on?

Is there a pattern here? The Senate Dem's in Washington filibuster Bush's judge nominees. Seems like tyranny of the minority. The liberals will stop at nothing to exercise every measure of power they can find. Does that willpower exist in the Republicans?
Of course, policitcal power is an end in itself for liberals. For conservative's it's a means to an end.

A special session can be called, but they can fly from that also! Our only solution is to oust them at election time it seems.

Sadly, it seems as if they are as testicularly deficient as those in both houses of Congress in downtown DC...

Sad day for the Repubs to let the RATS get away with this cowardly and childish behavior. Sounds like the Texas State Repubs and RATS modeled themselves after the U.S. Congress Repubs and RATS.

Hello, I was in Armore protesting for the past few days. Do ya'll mind of I share a couple of photos? Hope not. Better give feedback quick if you don't want them after the first one comes up.
Wednesday there were from one (me) to 15 protesters against the DIMocRATS there all day. Thursday there was a much better showing. I was dissappointed in us... but, then most of US do work. However, they only had 2 supporters there for a bit on Wednesday and 5 yesterday (Thursday) for only about 10 minutes. The first photo I want to show you is of their supporting ringleader leaving yesterday after their 10 minutes of spouting. Warning: this may be offensive to real men. Their ringleading supporter is the guy in the dress.

I promise, I am not pulling anybody's leg with this. Freeper RoseD was there and saw this as well as my daughter and many other protesters.

Well, nobody posted an objection to me posting photos from Ardmore so I'll put up another one.
Late yesterday afternoon the Dims decided this was a historical moment and they wanted a photo of the group in front of the Holiday Inn (can you say PR stunt?) So, here they come walking out the side door by the Denny's and yet, notice that all the TV cameras are focused on US - the ones protesting them - instead!!! (let 'em stick that in their pipes and smoke it - but not inhale)

These Dems act like we're living in a democracy instead of a republic. Forget the fact that the voters are disgusted with them and voted Republicans in to get some changes made. Unfortunately, Dems don't take "no" for an answer; like any self-absorbed toddler, what THEY want is the most important thing and they'll do anything to get their way.
To: lilylangtree; DocFarmer
What were they supposed to do? I'm looking forward to your ideas.

What should they have done. How about uphold the constitution of their state? Did you read the suggestions in my op/ed? Here they are again...
* Immediate forced resignation of all "escapees," and a special election to choose their replacement (not a mere selection of a new lib/dem/soc/commie by their political party)
* Jail - 5 years hard labor, or however long it takes them to pay off their hotel AND bar bill at 50 cents a day
* Ban them from holding any political office in the future
* Force them to watch a Paulie Shore Movie Marathon--for ONE MONTH!
To: DocFarmer
And how many of those suggestions are legal under the Texas Constitution?
To: stands2reason
What were they supposed to do? Which "they?" The dems or the GOP? Both get the same answer. Have enough spine to do what your oath requires you to do even if it's not comfortable! Even if it jeapardizes some of your own personal interests. When anybody runs for public office the interest of the public superceeds self-interest the MINUTE you take that oath and take your seat! The dems already showed what they were made of. Now lets see if the GOP deserves the trust we've put in them by giving them every part of Texas government except the US house.
I think this post says nicely what the mood of Texas conservatives is right now. BTW Doc, well done on the editorial, I should have said that long before now.
