I haven't followed this story closely, can someone explain to me how a body in the Bay could still be intact after several months? Crabs, fish, etc. normally pick the bones clean within a few days from what I'm told.

I'm not really sure, but I do remember reading about the "coffin birth" and how the amniotic fluid actually acts as a preservative for the baby and that is why his condition was in such a better state than that of Laci's. So that would blow the whole "carving" theory right there.

It wasn't intack after 4 mos in the ocean decomposing. What was found was badly decomposed, and the head, foot, partial arm, and ??? was missing.. Presumed to be anchored down still..

I think that's a good point. The fact that there was ANY flesh left on either body seems to point to the likelihood of Laci's body having been wrapped up at first. (As for the baby, IMO he was "wrapped up" inside his mother until her decomposition caused him to break loose.)
