Keys To Bono's Political Success: Passion And An Iron Butt
Unlike many rock stars who dress up for the more sober work of diplomacy, Bono has chosen to remain in character while advocating for his causes. Whether it's a meeting with the Pope, Helms or global leaders at the World Economic Forum, Bono doesn't clean up in a suit and respectable haircut.
Instead, even for a bull session with President Bush (who has affectionately referred to Bono as "The Pest"), it's the familiar wrap-around shades, black leather jacket and unkempt hair. Which, curiously, is part of the appeal.

Bono says he has a new nickname around the White House: "The Pest."
The U2 singer met George Bush in the Oval Office to discuss Aids and Bush's new initiative on US aid to poor countries.
Afterwards, he accompanied Bush to a speech, then had another session with White House officials.

"Today, I call for a new compact for global development, defined by new accountability for both rich and poor nations alike," states President George W. Bush in his address at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, D.C. March 14. "Every day another 14,000 people are infected, and another 8,500 die. Time is of the essence." Giving life extending drugs in cultures which believe in witchcraft should double or triple the number of infections and deaths in no time at all. Probably lead to more drug-resistent strains too. But what do I know? Frist is the doctor.

As bad as I fee l about the circumstances in Africa, most of the drugs we have we'll only make their problems worse by perpetuating the disease. We should put the money into research not drugs. I'm surprised the Leftists havent picked up on this one yet, since the only beneficiaries of these billions will be the drug companies. But then, we can see the real objectives of the liberal leadership when see their knee-jerk anti-abstinence reactions. This is a an incurable viral disease that passes almost eclusively through sexual contact, yet they cant drop their d***ed agenda for two seconds to try to do what's right for other people in the world. MONOGAMY IS THE ONLY THING THAT DOES AND PROBABLY(unless there's a cure) EVER WILL WORK!
