House Majority Leader Tom "The Hammer" DeLay is a tobacco-chewing, meat-eating Texas Republican who likes to drink red wine and smoke cigars.

This could be a 'he said, she said' story, but if DeLay said that he 'IS' the government, then is it any reason why some conservatives are losing faith in the Republican Party?

Sorta like the Democrats' [Barbra Streisand] case of "do as I say, but not as I do" attitudes.

That would be correct if DeLay was the one pushing the no smoking rule.

But since he isn't, it's not correct at all.

He should have been flexible. Personally, I am more comfortable with folks that dip snuff and drink Old Crow.
