To love someone that much must have made him an idol to her. She was a fine columnist with sound ideas. There must have been other problems because suicide is the final negation, and if her husband was her only reason for living then she was, indeed, a sad person. All the lonely people.

Since you've had the same experience, thanks for the wisdom.

Never live in another person's shadow.

Don't try to fit the behaviors of depression into a logical world. It is not uncommon for suicidal depression to come as a shock to everyone around the individual. Although external events can be triggers, the depressive behavior gains a momentum of its own that often has little bearing to the trigger causes.

True unfortunately. This world is so full of broken people with nobody to love. I just hope Bowles knew the Lord...even suicide was forgiven on that Cross...every sin, past, present, future...is forgiven on that Cross. I can't imagine her pain.

Who knows what other factors were working in her life. I know things sometime get to the point where you just have to hang on to any bit of flotsam that drifts by. All the same, there comes a crossroads for all of us in such a crisis of faith. Looks like she took the wrong turn.

World of hurt out there.
