[history]
Nine defendants received a letter Wednesday stating a judge had found them guilty of trespassing during a die-in at a military recruiter's office.
"I'm sorry the judge didn't see the importance and the legality of what we were doing," said Neil Golder, defendant.

many stated that they remained in the recruiters' office because they answered to a higher power than civil law. Hebrew National Hot dogs? ;-)
The nine defendants are scheduled to be sentenced on May 29.
Anything less than a jail sentence, even a weekend in jail, would be a travesty. A fine would be paid by one of the freak groups that sponsor these crumbs, and serve as no deterrent whatsoever.
Let's hope the judge and the District Attorney show some stones on this one.
Ithaca is the City of Evil.

"I'm sorry the judge didn't see the importance and the legality of what we were doing," said Neil Golder, defendant. The protesters have the mistaken idea that being outraged about something gives them the right to stop people from conducting legitimate business, vandalize property, and block traffic.

Recruiters are often the targets of liberal idiots. Worse, they can't kick @ss because of the possible negative PR.
I hope these yahoos get jail time.

These protestors sought to avoid any consequences stemming from their actions by saying they were answering to a higher power than civil law. Attempting to place themselves above the law simply shows how ethically challenged these protestors are. They clearly do not have the courage of their "convictions."

The nine defendants are scheduled to be sentenced on May 29.Here in Berkeley, they caught a guy stealing the Campus newspapers. It was the Mayor! The sentence was something like giving a lecture to the homeless about the evils of republicans or something...

I notice one of the names recurring on a number of Ithaca marxist/catholics for global communism and genocide/protest everything in general threads and that is Grace Ritter. I hope her parents (if she has any) are proud. I also see her younger sister is going the same way.

Maybe the DNC, they consider themselves to be above the law.

Daniel Burns, Antoinette Chen-see, Peter Demott, Golder, Clare Grady, Guido, Mary Koponen, Grace Ritter and Leslie Schultz - welcome to a land where your freedom was gained by young people killing and being killed.
Now - sod off.

These people don't get it. They never will. You can't fix stupidity.

Maybe Green Party rather than Dimocrats - I think that they're just plain totally wacky. Try a google search on the names and see just what sort of idiocy you uncover Trips to protest Israel's actions against terrorists in Gaza(particularly ritter) These people are associated with the Catholic Communist Workers party (or something like that - I don't think they have the word communist in their title, but that's what they are)

Can we vote these idiots off the planet?

Methinks these same people would have a cow if an anti-abortion protester tried using that defense.

Why is it that none of the social clymers who attend these die-ins actually die? Isn't that false advertising?
