It's not really very funny, but it's excellent news. The liberal media are not letting this story drop. I think they feel a bit of their own kind of Schadenfreude. Here this guy is plugging away like a good little liberal at Slate, which is liable to go belly up any day, while the prestigious New York Times is hiring idiots.
This will severely damage the Times's ability to set trends and authorize other liberal media to pursue particular stories.

What is amazing to me is that when you read a variety of the nation's papers, they all say the same thing. They check with the paper of record first, and then write a similar story. Imagine, reporters actually having to hunt down stories!
One of the reasons why I think FR is popular, is because there is a wider variety of articles to read, since we all sift through them and post the ones that we find pertinent.
