Interesting...How is the increase in Autism related to women having children later in life? Is there a connection? After all, Down's Syndrome children are more prevelent when women have children after age 40.

I have another theory that I've thought about. Nowadays, babies are surviving that even 20 years ago they would not have survived. Babies born at 26 weeks can survive on their own. My own daughters would have died 20 or 30 years ago, but thank heavens for ventilators my daughters are alive and 6 years old.
Also, women have all sorts of interventions to keep babies. After mulitple miscarriages, I was given progesterone when I first conceived and had 3 kids. Twenty years ago, I probably would not have had 3 kids.
So, how many kids today would not have been born or would have died when they were infants. Of those kids, how many have problems.
Also, there are lots more kids that are born to women that take all kinds of drugs. How has that affected ADHD, austism rates, and other learning disability rates.
