Yeah more filibusters. I'm starting to like these guys, they're doing more to destroy liberalism than we've done in the last 30 years.

Filibuster this. Filibuster that.
Filibuster, filibuster, filibuster.
Is that all they can think of?
It's hard NOT to think of them as obstructionists.
To: areafiftyone
Well if they are going to filibuster make them filibuster 24/7 and bring their cots not this part-time BS that the GOP has been allowing with the judges.

CSPAN - the filibuster channel.

Ah, the Media-Democrat Axis at work again. First "60 Minutes" leads Sunday with a hit-piece against this legislation, and then the Democrats annouce a fillibuster against it 2 days later. Just a coincidence, right?

The heretofore gutless GOP had better make them filibuster 24/7 on everything.

Hey, Sen. Reed: Why don't you follow the lead of the Democrats in the Texas state legislature? An impromptu group getaway up in Canada somewhere would sure show those nasty old Republicans. Of course, nothing will be passed while you're away. Honest!

If the filibuster is truly supposed to be the tool of the minority, then change the Senate rules to make the minority carry the burden of maintaining the filibuster. The other week's 52-39 cloture vote was a joke.
The rule should be change to require 40 votes to sustain the filibuster instead of 60 votes to cut it off. That way, the Democrats run the risk of politicking candidates being away from the floor during the votes to sustain a filibuster.

How many southern RATS will support this. Lincoln is up next yr. in Arkansas. Breaux too if he stays in D.C. Edwards? Byrd? Hollings. Graham.
And what about the western ones?
I like this idea.

Not yet, the filibusters will end before the election. They're handing us a great campaign issue, but timing is everything.

Note they are filibustering judges because they follow the constitution. Gets easy to see where the dumpo-crap party stands.
If they think these are winner issues for them, lil' tommy better think again.

"President Bush, in a rare divergence from the NRA, has given his qualified support for extending the 10-year ban on assault weapons enacted in a 1994 law."
A RARE DIVERGENCE???? Gee, after reading the posts on FR over the past few weeks, I thought President Bush was basically Sarah Brady with a penis. How could it be a "rare divergence?????"
Guess it just goes to show how carried away the 2nd amendment-ers can get.

Send it to Frist, or better yet, send it to Mitch McConnell, the majority's whip!

Good.
I like the idea of this being a campaign issue in places like the Dakotas, Georgia, South Carolina, Alaska, Arkansas, etc.
