Expecting Stark staying off Monday night sidelines
May 13, 2003 SportsLine.com wire reports
Melissa Stark will not return to ABC's Monday Night Football for a fourth season as a sideline reporter because she is pregnant.
Stark is expecting her first child in September. She has worked Monday night games since 2000, when she and Eric Dickerson replaced Lesley Visser on the sidelines. Dickerson left after two seasons.
ABC Sports vice president Mark Mandel said Tuesday the show is seeking a new reporter for the 2003 season.

Do you suppose they could get someone who knows about football and doesn't wear an unbuttoned sweater? Or did I just miss the point?

I watched Melissa from the stands all the way through her college career; never heard a word she said. I found out then that the audio was not necessary to appreciate her work.

This looks like a job for (drumroll) Dennis Miller!
(Yeah, I know...lots of folks hated him on Monday Night Football, but I liked his wise-ass commentary. Besides, I'd love to hear him spank the Left from the sidelines.)

Here's a consensus candidate - Of course, consensus is like blended scotch - Yes, you
could drink it, but what's the point?

OK - Here's the real deal... And let the above be a lesson to you not to post news about beautiful women without the obligatory photo...

Do you suppose they could get someone who knows about football and doesn't wear an unbuttoned sweater? Or did I just miss the point?Remember, Rush Limbaugh had a lock on the MNF gig until Michael Eisner personally ordered ABC Sports not to hire him; that tells you all you need to know about the show's hiring process. Melissa Stark is not there because she knows football. And I'm thus very glad she's going to be gone.
Ten bucks says the next sideline reporter is another blonde with big breasts, though.

OK - Here's the real deal... And let the above be a lesson to you not to post news about beautiful women without the obligatory photo...That's the really sad thing: Stark isn't even all that sexy. I could just go to the mall and find ten girls that could match her on my lunch break.
Hell, I do that every day anyway. (just kidding)

"Ten bucks says the next sideline reporter is another blonde with big breasts, though." Melissa was very cute - but she had a nice modest bustline. Maybe a B-cup. Just right. They may replace her with a busty bimbo, but that's not what Melissa is.

I disagree, you impune one of the finest flowers of feminity to ever decorate the sideline.
