I am not really against the NRA, but I thought I would post here to get some opinion. In Ohio at the present time they are having sniper shootings, and there have been sniper shootings in the East, and there have been a few sniper shootings where I live in California.

On a message board I posted that perhaps there could be fingerprinting of guns, which would help to find snipers etc. I have not the faintest idea on what gun lovers think about fingerprinting guns, so I will post this message here where it may get some response.

In our complex society today it seems only natural that there will be more and more restrictions as society gets even more complex. There are people who do not want dna files kept. Maybe those same folk do not like fingerprints either. People used to complain anytime there were more restrictions at airports, but I don't know if they complain so much anymore.

If the NRA stands for law and order, I don't really know what they stand for, except owning guns, then I don't see that they should be against testing all guns, at least all new guns, and putting the marks on bullets fired from each individual gun into a computerbank. That might help to catch snipers faster.
