You didn't read any of the articles the NRA wrote during that period.

So how many lawsuits did the GOA file? Link please.

"The state should have an unassailable monopoly on the use of force." Everything you say is right. Let's never forget that the goal of any liberal, socialist or communist is salvery, torture and death. These goals cannot be achieved if the populace has a means of defending itself.

The article wasn't praising the GOA for stopping some legislation that is essentually meaningless given the records the Feds already have access to. But It was the GOA That put the Pressure on Orin (Check the Breeze) Hatch and his leanings on Gun Bills he was talkiing up as "reasonable legislation".

I read the articles the NRA wrote. Every one of them in their rag. Big bad NRA was upset. So I ask again WHAT DID THEY DO ABOUT IT? When you get done spinning that, explain their lack of support for Gun Owners in Georgia recently.

As to the malvo shootings, I'll tell you exactly what the NRA did, Nothing but milk the situation to their members for more cash donations for Wayne and his croanies to spend on lavish stuff WE members didn't ask for nor need. Or waste it on printing unsolicited crap they continue to send in the mail asking me to buy.

NRA is nothing but a paper tiger, that bilks its members out of MILLIONS each year while sleeping with the enemy. The sooner Wayne and his minions are gone the better.

We don't because of the courts, not because of the voters. The voters passed the racist and sexist laws of old.

You asked if the NRA had any lawsuits.

I have no idea.

Now tell me what the GOA did that makes them that much better.
I asked for a link on their lawsuit so where's the link?

You want the NRA gone. Good. They were neutral during the Georgia Trigger lock legislation and all I heard were GOA members whining, "Where's the NRA" Add your voice to the whining.

If you want the NRA gone, you better take up the slack because you aren't going to like the results. I have yet to see solitary results from the GOA.

Politics 101

The voters elect the candidates, the candidates become politicians, the politicians appoint the judges, the judges rule on the court cases, the judges can't read a simple 200+ year old sentence.

The issue now goes to the U. S. Supreme Court

Well, maybe, but the court has no requirement to hear the case, or any particular case.

This?

Yes, obviously. But wouldn't it have been nice if Charleton Heston had been holding up an AR-15, with the eviiiiiillll flash suppressor and bayonet lug. (Better yet an M-16, but that would really be dreaming)

It's all about who has the most votes to pass what laws they want.

True, unless one believes in limited government and the Constitution of the United States. Some laws are not allowed. Would anyone make such a statement if the law in question was to subject all the newspapers in the state to pre-publication "government review"? Same thing as restricting what kind of firearm the members of the group "the people" can keep.

"If the one with the most votes counted, we would have racist laws, and sexist laws!"

We don't???

We have some, many more have been struke down by the courts. The Supreme Court no longer makes a run for the border when a law that may be racist, or applied in a racist manner is challenged and appealed to them. The situations aren't even really comparable. Other than for in the context of voting, sexism and racism are not explictly prohibited by the Constitution. Infringing on the right of people to keep and bear arms is. The challenges to racist and sexist laws come via the "equal protection" clause of the 14th amendment, other than voting rights cases.

The rifle he holds up is usually the presentation piece at the Annual Convention.

That rifle probably costs more than my house.

Here's hoping Kayne Robinson has something next year like those godawful looking MP-5's that Saddam Hussein had in his collection.

It was my very short answer to explain the libs never saw an unconstitutional gun law they didn't like.

They REALLY hate NRA certified Firearms Instructors...like me. Especially when those leftists and myself work as public school teachers. Sometimes I wear my NRA Instructor polo shirt just to ...ahem..."draw fire" from my "peers." At first (when I first came to this school six years ago) the attacks were prolific. I stood my ground. Then they got dirty and mean spirited....yet I hung around. Now....after I was made social studies Teacher of the Year at my school...the leftists have all but given up. Just last week the Miami Herald published my letter to the editor attacking the president for his insane support of the so called "assault weapons ban" I would walk up to sign in for the day...hear the flurry of whispers and the inevitable comment out loud: "Don't say anything, you'll only encourage him!"

This is the inner city...DemocRAT heaven. I can't tell you how many kids in the last six years have truly opened their eyes and thanked me...parents too...because the kids go home and open a dialogue. Sometimes they open the dialogue in Church with a "political Pastor" and challenge the lies....it can get exciting to see my students stand up for freedom because of give and take discussions begun in my class. I try to epitomize the Fox credo: FAIR and Balanced. It works and it has kept me from harrassment by the uppity ups! Maybe they haven't changed parties....and that of course is something I never discuss...I just make them go check out everything I say and make their own enlightened decisions in the face of their own sense of morals, and beliefs. Sometimes truth wins and sometimes propaganda wins. That's life. I'm moving on next year to another school. New challenges more liberal dragons to slay. LOL I can't wait!

Look goober, It is NOT my job to defend the NRA, GOA, or any other organization. YOU ARE THE ONE DEFENDING THE NRA.
I pointed out the fallacy in a Pro NRA article. It was clearly misleading in its assumptions.

And before you call me a whiner, goober. I AM a Life Member. So stuff you condesending attitude up your ass.

You are right, the NRA was NEUTRAL in Georgia. Imagine that. The USAs most powerful (giggle) Gun lobby stays NEUTRAL on a Gun issue that affects ALL Citizens in Geogia. Hmm, must be Wayne had important business elsewhere. Like Spending his Weeks with his minions off on some expensive "Business" trip?

Seeing how you like the name calling, with Useful Idiots like you supporting them the NRA sells out its members, Because YOU allow it. I refuse to and have voiced that to the Organization. And I won't be silent about what I consider total mismanagement and a constant scam on the members. In the meantime Wayne and Company continues to negotiate away the Second Amendment under "reasonable terms" or totally ignores a State full of Members who pleaded for them to get involved with pending legislation.
It amazes me that they refuse to get involved in such things but can spend Hundreds of Thousands sending me JUNK MAIL wanting me to purchase a pocket knife with a NRA label on it. Please...

I don't need to list any links goober, because I am NOT THE ONE DEFENDING the NRA or the GOA for that matter. I clearly stated that Until I see the NRA change its ways I will send my money to the GOA. If you don't like it tough shit. I don't need to defend who or where I send my funds. BUT AS A NRA LIFE MEMBER I have every right to critisize their waste and lack of political balls to address the ISSUES they say they support.

So STFU. I done with your BS.

Oh, quit your childish whining. Not once did I do a personal attack or call you a schoolyard name. The truth must hurt.

The NRA did everything they could during the sniper attacks. I asked you if that other gun group did any better and you start with attacks. I'm not impressed.

You attacked the NRA so where is the links the other gun group did any better. Again, link please.

And again, one the the staunch fighters for Rights can't get up from the couch to throw away some mailings. The magazine has a number to call to stop the mailings. If you are a member you would know that instead of whining about getting off the couch to throw something away.

The NRA was neutral in that trigger lock fight because, supposedly since I didn't read the Bill, it also included other safe guards for other items. The GOA had what it deserved. The NRA stayed out of their fight and they still asked for NRA help. Just like you are right now.

Where was the GOA during:
The Florida trigger lock fight?
The Michigan CCW fight?
The Minnesota CCW fight?

The only time I might be impressed with the GOA is if they do something competetely alone and they quit mentioning the NRA.
Until then, they haven't shown me a thing that they come close to being competent.

The GOA should have reveled in the idea they could do it alone. They didn't. They still asked for help.

Ya, another disappointed NRA "Lifer".
Let me guess, you joined when a Life Membership cost $25, you get your Magazine every month and never gave another nickle. Or, you are too young to remember the battles fought and won by the NRA in the past. Either way, I question weather you are a NRA member at all.
NRA life members usually have a loyalty and commitmemt that is lacking in your posts. Also, Life members pay no yearly dues or fees other than voluntary contributions, so whats with your post #20?.

You're right.

The life members I know donate their time with the Boy Scouts, the National Matches and help with the "Refuse to Be a Victim" program. There's one guy I know who helps out at the gun club who can't shoot because of diabetes and heart problems. He's there every Saturday from start to finish filling out scores and other paperwork. I didn't realize there were NRA members helping to elect our new Congressman until one of them wore his NRA shirt. It turns out his name is Phil and he's the regional director for the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In the last two election, we gained two A rated Congressman. That's why we're pretty comfortable in defeating the Assault Weapons Bill because we worked back in November.

We still have a lot of work to do. People whining about throwing out mail don't impress me. The people who open up that mail and send in the money do.

I am not really against the NRA, but I thought I would post here to get some opinion. In Ohio at the present time they are having sniper shootings, and there have been sniper shootings in the East, and there have been a few sniper shootings where I live in California.

On a message board I posted that perhaps there could be fingerprinting of guns, which would help to find snipers etc. I have not the faintest idea on what gun lovers think about fingerprinting guns, so I will post this message here where it may get some response.

In our complex society today it seems only natural that there will be more and more restrictions as society gets even more complex. There are people who do not want dna files kept. Maybe those same folk do not like fingerprints either. People used to complain anytime there were more restrictions at airports, but I don't know if they complain so much anymore.

If the NRA stands for law and order, I don't really know what they stand for, except owning guns, then I don't see that they should be against testing all guns, at least all new guns, and putting the marks on bullets fired from each individual gun into a computerbank. That might help to catch snipers faster.

that perhaps there could be fingerprinting of guns

What do you mean..."fingerprinting" guns?

In our complex society today it seems only natural that there will be more and more restrictions

Says WHO? And, for WHAT reason? Liberty does NOT have a "complex" clause. Our society has flurished nicely for 225+ years as is.

There are people who do not want dna files kept.

Why don't we all take plaster casts of our vehicles tires, too? Or, maybe it's best just to phone the police....tell them WHERE we are going, and WHEN we'll be home?

People used to complain anytime there were more restrictions at airports

A restriciton at an airport is an inconvenience it does NOT intrude on one's liberty. You cannot make that comparison.

What other essential liberties are YOU willing to give up in the name of safety, hmm?

A person who would give up liberty or the false sense of safety, deserver neither liberty OR safety.
