Democrats in Disarray following Bush Carrier Speech

Rather than keeping quiet in response to the overwhelmingly positive marks given by Americans to President Bush's speech aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, the Democrats continue to amaze by once again saying the wrong things at the wrong times. Whether it's Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle blasting Bush at the beginning of the war with Iraq or countless Democrat congressmen echoing the media's assessment that the U.S. military was bogged down after a week and a half of action, the Democrat protests have been met with scorn, and yet they keep going. One has to wonder if the Democrats have truly gone off the deep end. It's one thing to complain about a controversial issue, but it's quite another to raise questions about actions which the public wholeheartedly supports.
President Bush's speech aboard the Abraham Lincoln resulted in the ultimate highlight reel: Bush landing on the carrier in full flight suit, being embraced and cheered by the military personnel, and speaking with a picture-perfect background of sky, ocean, and sailors. Yet, last week, Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) called for an accounting of the cost of President Bush's speech on the USS Abraham Lincoln. In addition, Sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV) took to the Senate floor blasting the same speech.
Sen. Byrd called the President's speech on the Abraham Lincoln an "affront to the Americans killed or injured in Iraq." Byrd went on to say that the aircraft carrier was used as "an advertising backdrop for a presidential political slogan."

I wish the President had swooped down in a Superman suit and cape to the cheers of those aboard that ship!

The democrats are in melt down and that is good news. America is not a liberal nation, and their philosophy of socialism and "feel good" politics is not working. It will thake them several elections to recover.
America is tired of their "mean spirited" attacks and temper tantrums, and their unwillingness to relish in the war victory and acknowledge the great accomplishments of our commander and chief has been the final blow that has rendered the party mute.
They will continue to attack and criticize and condemn......but agin, it will all be to their detriment as their ploy has now been uncovered.

Hopefully the DemocRATs will not recover, but there will be another "Era of Good Feelings" with Republican dominance, followed, like the first Era of Good Feelings, by a split of the dominant (this time Republican) party into two parties.

My main concern is that the Republicans become complacent while the Democrats "re-array" themselves. We cannot afford to be overly confident.

I think that George Bush has restored the "core Values" that the Clinton years destroyed and what's more, the American people are both aware of it and are rejoicing.
The Democrats are quite aware of this and are caught on the horns of a dilemma. They can't acknowlege the restoration nor can they advocte a return to the Clinton morality. It's a lose-lose situation for them.

Of course, the Dems have nothing to counter GWB's carrier landing.
They are still smarting from Mike Dukakis's tank ride in 1988
Maybe the GOP should run an ad featuring Dukakis the Armored Trooper and the narrator saying: "..this is what the Democrats look like when they try to support our troops.."

Did you know Karl Rove has three more such events scheduled before the election? Each one is as good or better than the carrier landing. The next one will be two weeks before the 9/11 memorial this year--so it doesn't infringe (too much..heh heh) on the memorial. The next two are timed to preempt Democrat events during the campaign season.
Please don't spread this information around, it is supposed to be hush-hush.
