Anytime Jessee
Jack@ss is involved you can believe that somebody is getting screwed. NASCAR should have shied away from this @sshole!

NASCAR says it was merely supporting minority causes. But critics, led by the National Legal and Policy Center, charge that NASCAR paid Jackson ''hush money'' to keep him from attacking the sport on minority issuesJesse strikes again. O'Reilly had some fun with this one last week. White executives are sure easy to intimidate these days. It must be Kunta Kinte's revenge.

Now it is being lambasted because of its donations to minority causes...It simply took a wrong turn while trying to do the right thing. THAT's not why the fans are pissed... THIS is why:
Critics ask how NASCAR can justify supporting Jackson, who diametrically opposes [causes] most of its fans support.

These shakedown artists need to be resisted. Companies should call their bluff and ask which black college they'd like sent a donation in their name. If they insist on being paid directly into their own slush funds, you can be sure you've unmasked a race hustler.

NASCAR officials are about as bright as that Harvard graduate, (hard to believe), O'reilly; that's why they paid that extortionist!

Whatever you say!

What a bunch of idiots. $250,000 could of helped alot of organiztions doing much good work in the South. Mentor programs like Big Brothers and Big Sisters would of loved the support. Instead Jerkson gets more money to hush his whores.

Jackson would at best (or worse) be like a mosquito humming around the sport that needs to be swatted in the worst way!
Where is the race hustler on the issue of the Blair diversity hire (failure) controversy at the NYTimes?
To: twas
NASCAR should tell Jackson if he wants the money he has to earn it. Put him in a car at Bristol and make him race for it.

That money could have been better spent to aid researching, developing and implementing "soft-wall" technology.
Jerry Nadeau could have benefited from that probably.

Welcome to NASCAR.com.
Turner Sports Interactive, an AOL Time Warner Company, acquired all of NASCAR's interactive rights in October 2000 and became the exclusive producer of NASCAR.com, the official site of NASCAR, in January 2001. At that time and then again in February 2002 NASCAR.com redesigned and improved the site to make it the destination where you, the NASCAR fan, can receive the most current NASCAR news and notes from all of the drivers, teams, and tracks; video and in-car audio; official up-to-the-minute point standings; and exclusive driver chats and merchandise.
NASCAR.com is one of the fastest growing sports sites on the Web, consistently ranking among the top league sites (NFL.com, NBA.com, NHL.com) on the Internet. In 2001, NASCAR.com received over one billion page views, which is a 45 percent increase from the previous year when ESPN ran the site. This past year, the site has made significant increases as it looks to exceed 1.5 billion page views by year's end, as well as averaging 2,719,750 million unique users who visit the site through the month of August.
Turner Sports Interactive bases its NASCAR.com staff in Atlanta, with additional personnel in Charlotte and Daytona. In addition, the site has personnel at the tracks, giving NASCAR.com the ability to break news stories on-site around the clock. NASCAR.com provides users with some of the industry's best information resources through AOL and CNNSI.com.
