Spears was convicted and served about two years of his sentence. He has since been released and is living in Allen Parish.

The legal system works hard to do away with justice. Would Spears have been shot if he had not committed the initial crime of molesting this couple's daughter? No. But he serves a short sentence and the family is just about destroyed bvy the state.
