This guy seems a cinch winner of "The Chard", the award given in memory of the crusading lies of Stephen Glass.

Their multi-page apologia amounted to another cover up. Their editorial page was completely silent on the issue, no mea culpa, no mention whatsoever.

His privileged position may also have saved him from any fall-out from a memo circulated by one editor, alarmed by his performance, a year ago that read: "We have to stop Jayson from writing for the Times. Right now."

Ahhhh, the wonders of diversity.

The Weekly Standard did a Lexus/Nexus on others at the Times. Johnny Apple had a lot more corrections than the guy they fired.

America's "smuggest" newspaper - a masterpiece of understatement. Sulzberger and Raines are rapidly turning it into a joke. Supermarket tabloids have more credibility.

Blair's youth, he is 27, and his colour, he is black, may have helped him get away with his talent for fiction-writing, some media commentators have suggested.

And the race card.......they won't own up to it, but they printed it with a disclaimer. What a bunch of pukes.

Memphis has a Black owned news paper the Tri-State Defender, their reporters are also black. They have a case similar to this on their hands. The offender wrote white baised pieces for them. Thread

What you have to do is lie for three years, and then move on. Or go to the editorial pages. If you have a " I hear the voices" breakdown, you'll get a column.

I am waiting for the "You whites don't understand, blacks come from a different factual tradition" arguments.

Well, this one seems more of a case of "affirmative action" at work then total racial bias. Oh, wait, I'm blurred as to the difference. :-| ???

Inotherwords the NYTimes just said they gave the guy a pass because of his skin tone and age. That makes them racist. That is the story here. They allowed the lies after repeatedly being told to can the guy.

Al Sharpton & JJ & NAACP and every other race baiter should all be proud. </sarcasm>

Here's another question I've got: If the guy wasn't really going to the places he was allegedly reporting from, how come no-one noticed his expense account didn't match his reporting? Or was Blair padding his expense account?
