I don't have a problem in your judgements of the state, to be honest. And many of this state's residents can accurately be described in the terms you have used.
The political classes here are definitely left-of-center (in general). I know a good many conservative voters who are PO'd or have given up due to the overwhelming politcal clout of those on the goverment payroll and/or dole.
My only request is that you don't "throw the baby out with the bath water". Not every New York resident is a stereotypical New Yorker.

Seriously, can you even own a .50 BGM in NY? (This is a 2a thread)
