For example, I am an avid horseplayer. Over the weekend a bruhaha developed over a photo and some poor journalism concerning the Kentucky Derby. An allegation of a "buzzer" (read: speed-inducing cattle prod) being used by the jockey on the winning horse, Funnycide. I first heard word of it early Sunday morning. Needless to say I was scared stiff for the game I love so much. I spent lots of time and energy searching for these pictures showing the device in the jockey's hand as well as any news I could find. This included racing chat rooms and industry websites of which I have hundreds of links. Guess what? I go to Freerepublic, do a search under Kentucky Derby and immediately get two threads with home-made blow-ups of the pics along with great comments; some ridiculous, some very poignant. An hour or so later there is a third thread that wraps the story up as pretty much false, (with links), case closed, mind you before the Daily Racing Form (Horseman's Bible) goes to press.
So, to answer your question: YES do what I did when I first heard of this fat #'s movie coming out: Run a search on the Author(?) and Title of this crap movie and find out for yourself on a line by line, scene by scene analysis of this smear piece. I have over 15 bookmarks on threads and links derived from threads. And yes, someone could make lots of money with an anti-bowling docu.....regards, Trifecta Tom.
