ROTFL....... Er, any group that advertises itself as a "front" tends to be a bit suspect to me. Your point gave that a whole different meaning.

"Yep, but the Filipino's I've talked to consider them a gang of thugs who kidnapp for ransom and kill for profit. There may be some true Islamist's among them but most are after money."

There's truth in that, but at the same time, many if not most Filipinos are under-informed as to the extent of Islam's culpability.

The successive governments have kept hoping for a negotiated settlement short of an "independent Islamic homeland," and so have drawn back from calling a spade a spade. News outlets have cooperated.

Without Islamic rebellion as a cover, of course, many would be exposed as mere bandits. At the same time, as this incident shows, Islamic terrorism that is not a ploy for money is a major factor.

"Do a google on it and you'll find out what it stands for in internet land."

I didn't need to know that.

"They might want to re-think their name. Do a google on it and you'll find out what it stands for in internet land."

No, the acronym is deliberate. They are violent muslim separatists who also happen to prefer their women to be as experienced as their goats.

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelamm, who trained the Osama bin Laden led Al-Queda in Afghanistan, trained the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and the Abu Sayyal group in the latter half of the 1990's.

[18-JAN-02] Philippines Arrest 3 Al-Queda Members who were linked to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front

[28-NOV-01] Philippine Authorities Arrests 3 Al-Queda Terrorists. The three men allegedly were seen recruiting from the Muslim extremist Abu Sayyaf group, the separatist Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).

There may be some true Islamist's among them but most are after money.

The two concepts are not mutualy exclusive, Islam was all about Caravan raiding when Mohamad started it. Robery, theft, extortion, torture, and conquest, all are fine principles of the Koran.

These guys are just following their scriptures literaly.

"which shows the true nature of Islam"

What's with all the Islam bashing? Over the centuries, various Christian groups have displayed just as much of a penchant towards violence as some Muslim groups show now.

Problem is Islam has ALWAYS shown that penchant towards violence, and their Koran even tells them to kill all who won't convert to Islam.

This speaks volumes about this garbage religion of "peace."

Take a look at America's landscape and see all the mosques that have popped up in the past quarter century.

You won't find Pee Wee's bicycle in the basement, but the fireworks you would find aren't for celebration of the 4th of July!

Over the centuries, various Christian groups...
While there's always the lone nutjobs of any religion, the violent strain of Christians phased out a long time ago, while it is prevelant in Islam today.
Perhaps that's due to Islam not coming into being 400 years after Christianity and they have some catching up to do. Its their job to get out of the middle ages.

Bush's "religion of peace" is something even Bushbots can't defend.

Awwwwwwww!

I can hardly wait for the next juvenile, infantile screed from the Islamonazis about how misunderstood they are!

It's all a fignewton of our imagination.

I hope the Phillipines exercises restraint and takes care to insure that its actions do not engender further violence and contribute to the cycle of violence.
