No, I'm not surprised. I just wish that the media bias could be exposed with the proverbial Bang instead of a whimper!

I spoke in person to the people in the Pentagon that CNN had interviewed and filmed for that report, and they told me how CNN edited what they said to make it seem like they were saying exactly the opposite of what they actually said.I was in the Middle East when the Somalia conflict started. I was in a unique position of working at a satellite earth station that routed TV traffic to various spots around the world.
To make a long story short, I watched a 15 minute raw video feed out of Somalia (just un-edited video; no sound), then saw the edited and sanitized story on CNN at my hotel room that night--it was the exact opposite of what had happened.

Arnett, Jordan, Brown..... perhaps Turner can be next.
Someone at CNN must understand what they are doing. Forget fair and balanced. How about 'journalistic integrity'?
If I had a CNN email addy, I'd forward the above there. Anyone got one that MIGHT be a person with principles???

"For example, this past Saturday, over 3,000 people turned out in Atlanta, the home of CNN, to support the war on a dreary and rainy day. At the same time, there was an anti-war rally in Atlanta that was attended by twenty-two, that's right TWENTY-TWO protesters. CNN covered the 22-person anti-war rally. "
Correction:
I was at the Atlanta rally and CNN was there, covering it LIVE and they also did taped interviews with rally participants and ran the Rally story many times that day.

Arnett, Jordan, Brown..... perhaps Turner can be next. And don't forget, "the mattress with a microphone," Christiane Amanpour.
I remember in the early '90's, CBS's 60 Minutes did a spot on her where she said to Morley Safer that an RPG-7 grenade hit the hotel room adjacent to her while she was reporting the war in Sarajevo. I must confess to y'all that naughty little devil on my left shoulder said to me, "Too bad it didn't hit her!"

- If Act I was a thinly veiled allegory about naked clintonism, then Act II is a parable about the plan for world domination by the Establishment, aged hippies in pinstripes all, with their infantile, solipsistic world view amazingly untouched by time.

Mia T, THE ALIENS
Al From is sounding the alarm. "Unless we convince Americans that Democrats are strong on national security," he warns his party, "Democrats will continue to lose elections." Helloooo? That the Democrats have to be spoon-fed what should be axiomatic post-9/11 is, in and of itself, incontrovertible proof that From's advice is insufficient to solve their problem. From's failure to fully lay out the nature of the Democrats' problem is not surprising: he is the guy who helped seal his party's fate. It was his Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) that institutionalized the proximate cause of the problem, clintonism, and legitimized its two eponymic provincial operators on the national stage. The "Third Way" and "triangulation" don't come from the same Latin root for no reason. That "convince" is From's operative word underscores the Democrats' dilemma. Nine-eleven was transformative. It is no longer sufficient merely to convince. One must demonstrate, demonstrate convincingly, if you will
which means both in real time and historically. When it comes to national security, Americans will no longer take any chances. Turning the turn of phrase back on itself, the era of the Placebo President is over. (Incidentally, the oft-quote out-of-context sentence fragment alluded to here transformed meaningless clinton triangulation into a meaningful if deceptive soundbite.) Although From is loath to admit it -- the terror in his eyes belies his facile solution -- the Democratic party's problem transcends its anti-war contingent. With a philosophy that relinquishes our national sovereignty -- and relinquishes it reflexively
and to the UN no less -- the Democratic party is, by definition, the party of national insecurity. With policy ruled by pathologic self-interest -- witness the "Lieberman Paradigm," Kerry's "regime change" bon mot (gone bad), Edwards' and the clintons' brazen echoes thereof (or, alternatively, Pelosi's less strident wartime non-putdown putdown)
and, of course, the clincher -- eight years of the clintons' infantilism, grotesquerie and utter failure -- the Democratic party is, historically and in real time, the party of national insecurity. The Democrats used to be able to wallpaper their national insecurity with dollars and demogoguery. But that was before 9/11. |

Believability is the media's stock in trade, without it they have nothing to sell.

A quick look at CNN's numbers tells us the market economy is doing it's job: CNN's going down.

Next time you're in Atlanta during an election cycle, do as I did. Go to CNN and walk thru the employee parking lot....look at the bumper stickers...you'll be shocked. Camcorder!

CNN is to the Department of State's "foreign service's" insidious un-and-anti-American dealings and workings but a Monica Lewinsky to the Clintons' obscene deceipts and treacheries.
A red herring by any other name.

That just about sums it up. You're right, we already knew all this, but it's still an interesting read and just another sign of the nails in CNN' coffin. CNN also manages to get Chirac's hate who will present a state French TV to compete with BBC and CNN worldwide. They claim CNN is US outfit biased against them.... LOL!
CNN now has liberal foreign competitors who hate it. This network is really the stupid network.
To: dixie sass
Not to be mean, but this article ranks up with there with such shockers as "dog bites man", "Liberals like taxes", "New York, still a state", "people think slavery is bad".

My sister works at CNN- The editorial decision makers there are definitely pushing a left wing agenda through their news coverage. Many of the employees are good people and don't like the lack of journalistic standards, but are afraid and want to keep their jobs so they shut up.
