In my book, they outlaw scopes mounted on rifles.

Who knows? But high enough to think writing a book of warning was worth it.

This book, just click on it. The first half of it is posted under "excerpts". It begins with a massacre at a packed football stadium, blamed on a loony veteran with an assault rifle. He is, of course, a patsy, but this false story is in line with the media's bias and is accepted uncritically. A week later, congress bans all semi auto "assault rifles" and the troubles begin. I am now working on the last of the 57 chapters.

Thanks. I have been looking at a Bushmaster but I really prefer .308. The M1A is a little heavy and pricey. I like the FN but don't want to get a parts junker. If they weigh a little more than an AR that would be close to perfect.
FReegards and sorry I took so long to get back.

The damn law was repealed in the House in 1995 after the so-called "Republican Revoultion" of the '94 election. The repeal bill never was reported out of committee in the Senate, so no real votews recorded and I very much doubt that the US Senate would today vote to repeal. In fact, my bet is that the Senate version of the new bill will pass in the Senate; the place we have to concentrate on killing it is in the House.
