The Koran preaches peace but is open to interpretation, just as the Bible offers differing words on peace and violence in the Old Testament and the New Testament.

We could interpret a Dr. Seuss children's book as saying we should go out and kill the infidels if we worked hard enough. The main thing is that the Koran is so very much easier to interpret this way compared to the writings of other major religions. This almost guarantees there will always be fanatic muslims around waiting to take the shortcut into 'paradise'.

I would say that Christianity makes possible a culture where it does not matter that Protestants and Catholics disagree over something; there is a law that leaves them free to practice their religion and forbids them from imposing their relegion and its law on othes.
This is not the case in Islam. If you're Muslim you're supposed to support Sharia and it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks.

I am, admittedly, NOT a scholar of Judeo-Christian Thought, Traditions, or Teachings, but--for the Life of me--I CANNOT SEEM to find justification in EITHER Book of the Bible for the Genocide of Infidels. NOR--despite wracking my memory for the potentially relevant Teachings--can I remember being taught that God approved of the suicide bombing of Innocents.

Perhaps I have not been privy to the "Deeper Mysteries" of Christianity of Judaism!
