Justice, campaign finance law's sponsors seek stay of court's ruling

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Justice Department has joined sponsors of the new campaign finance law in asking a federal court to suspend its ruling that struck down some of the law's restrictions.
Government attorneys defending the law asked the court for a stay Friday. The Justice Department, defending the law on behalf of it and the Federal Election Commission, sought the stay in consultation with the FEC.

The logical thing is NOT to let an unconstitutional law be in effect when there are clearly expressed judicial decisions saying so. The logical thing is to fall back on the previous law that was NOT unconstitutional UNTIL the Supremes rule on the new law.
