Ahhh, that's my problem! I'm a midwesterner who moved to the west coast when I was 21, and I've only been to NYC twice. (But I didn't think the men there walked strangely, either...maybe my problem is that I'm not observant, or maybe it's that I just don't care. ; ) LOL)

LOL, I noticed his walk right off but didn't think it "strange". It's the way a man with well developed leg muscles walks. Back east, in order to get that look, you'd have to be athletic.
