This forum is advertised as a "CONSERVATIVE" forum, not a republican cheerleading section. The partisan pubs want conservative votes but we are to say nothing and ask for nothing. Just vote for anyone they put up front. Really peculiar that they come on here, insult people then turtn around and ask for our votes.

I notice for all your BS you don't ping the OWNER OF THIS FORUM to get HIS take on your definition of HIS FORUM.

I've seen JimR expound on this subject often. He understands that we need to do everything possible to VOTE OUT THE DEMS.

He understands that the GOP is the only party that stands a chance of turning things around in this country.

He understands that a vote for a third party candidate on a national level is a vote for the Dems.

If I have misrepresented his opinions here, as I have read them in the past, I hope he will correct my perception....AND YOURS, cynicom.

We can do NOTHING without the power in the Senate and the House. That is the #1 goal at this point, imo. This handwringing and 'sky is falling' is NOT productive. You want a President Hillary? Or a President Lieberman....or Kerry...or Edwards?

You honestly think that they wouldn't have your guns locked up, your cars declared illegal, your taxes thru the roof, the federal budget 3 times what it is now, all illegals declared legal, have us as a signatory on the Kyoto Treaty, have us join the International Criminal Court, further the influence of the U.N. on our foreign policy, cut the military, rescind the PBA legislation, establish Universal Health care and further pack the courts with liberal judges?

Yeah.....there's NO difference between the two parties. Right.

Republicans control both houses, the presidency and have a once in a lifetime chance to change things that will not get better by increments. There is only today in politics. Waiting for the next election cycle, or for higher numbers of one party is a fools game. With the political capital available to GW, he could roll back the spending of the federal govt, and make many changes that could put truth to the years of Republican party promises of smaller govt, and a return to constitutional limits. Even Rush postulated that if the R's controlled all of the seats of govt, and did nothing to change the course of the ballooning govt, he would publicly switch parties. Of course that was before GW was elected, now it is wait for bigger majorities, and do what you can I guess. There is a debt bomb waiting for those that are poo-poohing the deficit spendings. Some say 20 trillion dollars in debt and future promises to pay. That is not small potatoes. Now I don't advocate cutting military, but in those programs that have no business in the federal purview. Unless this govt does something about the runaway spending, there makes little difference between the party in charge. A hawkish Democratic President, and a Republican majority in Congress may be a better way to go right now. At least then, the Republicans give lip service to the old ideas of conservatism.
