A conquered Britain would have made America's task far more difficult. A large, unsinkable aircraft carrier 12 miles off the coast of Europe was essential for Overlord.
Considering The Bomb, we would probably have still won the war, but it would have been longer and much bloodier.

The ironic thing is that Hitler's persecution of the Jews may very well, in large measure, prevented him from getting the atomic bomb first. If he had waited a year or two before launching his offensives, if he'd not driven off or killed the best and brightest Jewish scientists in Germany... one shudders.
