Senator Johnson's son coming home from war

Senator Tim Johnson and his family are celebrating some great news about his son Brooks. The Army Staff Sergeant sent an e-mail to his dad saying he would probably be home within a week. Brooks Johnson was deployed to the war in Iraq as part of the 101st Airborne Division and has been in southern Iraq and Baghdad. Senator Johnson says, "He had his first shower and hot meal in over a month. He thinks he'll be on a flight back to the U.S. on Friday. They are going to allow him to stop by and see his family for a couple of days before he goes on to Fort Campbell Kentucky."

Senator Johnson in the only member of the entire United States Congress with a child who fought in the war in Iraq.

Soon the left will make it a requirment that only people directly involved in something can vote on it - but then they will say it is a conflict of interest :)

Hmmm - that's funny, I don't see his party affiliation listed in the article . . .

Number one rule of thumb in newsrooms across the land: absolutely NO positive references, regardless how subtle, involving the 'other guys'.

Kudos to his son for his service. His dad must be proud.

Remarkable, if you stop and think about that for a moment.

God bless his son. The Senator should be proud. Too bad he is not on our side of the aisle. Come on, Tim. Go for tax cuts, values, court confirmations, far few abortions, and tell Tommy goodbye.
