NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER consent to vehicular searches.

If they've got probable cause, they'll search your vehicle without your consent. If they don't, they'll ask as part of a fishing expedition. No good thing can ever come from a consented vehicular search. They'll never find anything to give you a medal for, but it doesn't take much to put you away.

If the LEO ask's for consent then he is admitting he has no cause. If you refuse to consent to be searched and are searched any way then this is a bad search. You may end up in jail any way it turns out.
