All I'm saying is that if all people can say with regards to Byrd is, "Quiet, Klanboy," then it's not really that different when a liberal will degenerate to name-calling in an argument. It's not namecalling, IMO -- it's a fact. It's not like calling him a leftist nitwit or old fool or any other well-earned name. The FACT is that he was a member of an organization whose sole purpose was to terrorize and kill other Americans, and I believe that cannot be ignored or put in the "let bygones be bygones bin."

What he did is heinous and I believe that what he says and does now can and should held up to that prism.

You want proof of him, look at which judges he fillibusters, or offers to fillibuster ("as long as it takes") and which ones he doesn't. Give you a hint, he didn't go after any of Bush conservative white judges, including Pickering, but he has no problem jumping in front of a camera ready to stop a hispanic.
