U.S. House Cons. Resolution number 53
YEAS: 422
NAYS: 0
NOT VOTING: 13
TOPICS: Announcements; News/Current Events; Political Humor/Cartoons
KEYWORDS: bipartisanship; soapbox
How heartwarming to see liberals and conservatives come together in the spirit of bipartisanship, allowing a bunch of kids with wooden cars to roll them down ramps on the grounds of the Capitol.
Now, let's cut taxes.
Now, who were the deadbeats who DIDN'T VOTE??
To: Recovering_Democrat
I hope Teddy doesn't get near one of those cars.
To: Recovering_Democrat
If the derby has any boyscouts in participation, expect an amendment to follow.

Wonder why they even went thru the hassle of a recorded vote?
That's usually the M.O. when one side or the other wants to get everyone on record for future campaign ammo.

Maybe he could start up the Chappaquiddick 10.
You know, drive 10 miles and the first one to drive over the bridge and into the water wins. Drowning of passenger is optional.

Are we talking about local or national finals?
To: Recovering_Democrat
Call Senator Robert Byrd today and ask him to have the GAO investigate how much this is costing the taxpayers. Clearly it is a photo-op designed to help congressional incumbents in their reelection bids. Also we need to know who is getting the contract to build the ramps. Haliburton? Browne & Root?

Well, I'm sure the TSA is on top of this and checks 'em all for car bombs.
Shop stewards will be thicker than flees making sure all the kids are properly hassled.

Why cant there be lemon aid stands on the steps of the capital too? What about the boyscout jamboree? etc etc. Who came up with this 'feel good' scheme about holding the soap-box derby on the capital grounds?

Who came up with this 'feel good' schemeBeats me. What's troubling is that it was somebody who got elected.
