Hmmmm...neither one of those websites links has anything about identifying nodular melanomas. I have what my doctor calls "skin tags" on my chest area that have slowly been turning into raised pearlescent colored moles over the last year or so...she keeps telling me they are ok when I have my annual physical, but I am really not comfortable with her diagnosis. Will see if I can find further info in a search, will post anything I find.

I have the skin tag problem, and have had four of the relatively harmless skin cancers removed from my face -- the doc blamed them on X-ray treatment for acne when I was in high school. If you find out anything about the skin tags please send it to me. Thanks!

Carolyn

I would like more info on skin tags, also. My doctor also says they're nothing to worry about. But there is a major history of skin cancer in my family and I wonder about the tags.

I do NOT think the things called "skin tags" are the problem. My mom has been having those removed for most of her 83 cancer-free years, from her face, neck, and chest. It's those raised, pearly, "pimple-like" things that are worrying me, and maybe I should make an appointment and get them checked. I've had my share of sunning in the past. Has anyone seen a picture of what they're talking about?

Your post interested me because I have a couple "pimple-like " growths high on my arms in an area that's never exposed to the sun much like a chest area could be. One area no longer has a pimple but now has a small circle, pinkish in color Just wondering if a melanoma can migrate to an area of your body where the skin is perhaps thinner?, more porous?, etc. .....not real sure if that's even possible but a trip to the doc is probably worth it.

If you're really hard core you can grab those skin tags between your thumb and forefinger and just rip em off :)

We had a laborer a few years back who had a thumb sized one on the back of his neck. A project manager saw it one day and exclaimed "What the HELL is that!?!? Is that your unformed twin??? I thought it just winked at me!"
