"I firmly believe that Michael's time with us as a player will have a lasting impact on every player on our roster

What a shame his team was so bad. Despite his efforts, they didn't even make the playoffs.

Should he discuss his options in life with William Bennett?

You know, it wouldn't surprise me if he thought about running for office. He could write his own ticket in NC.

He could just about anywhere, and nobody has clue one as to what kind of politician he'd be.

I've heard of Michael Jordan, but what's a "Washington Wizard"?

Rumor on the street is that he will be joining a team of investors in bringing an expansion NBA team back to Charlotte. It would be back in his native NC, so it wouldn't be that unlikely....and leaving Washington, he eliminates conflict of interest.

He's a Dem, I'm pretty sure. But he pointedly refused to publicly endorse Harvey Gantt back when Gantt ran against Jesse Helms. Mike said, "Republicans buy shoes, too." He ain't stoopid. ;)

Well, he's certainly popular, but his little stint in minor league baseball proves that just because a person is good at one thing doesn't mean he's goog at other things. He also didn't prove to be that popular. If I remember correctly, the Birmingham Barrons were sitting on about 50,000 unsold Jordon jerseys.

Herb Kohl was just a wealthy supermarket magnate when he bought the Milwaukee Bucks to keep them in WI. That bit of local pride propelled him into the Senate. Keep an eye on this...

Even though I'm not a big fan of Pro B-Ball, I do recognize mundane ownership. The team will always be bad until Abe Pollin releases his grip on it. They need to stop relying on visiting team talent to sell tickets and spend some cash. They had the perfect opportunity to attract some big-name talent to build on when MJ joined the team, but instead Abe relied on the MJ mystic to, somehow, magically transform his team into a winner.

Give him credit for slugging it out the entire year. Riding around on a bus from podunk town to podunk town...he never quit.

surely broken hearted. It is an outrage I tell ya

Let's not forget he was the mastermind that assembled the "talent" he surrounded himself with these past two years.

Richard Petty couldn't get elected in NC, so MJ wouldn't stand a chance.
