[history]
In a surprise move, the head of the Mississippi Legislative Black Caucus says he no longer opposes Judge Charles Pickering's controversial appellate court nomination and can even relate to Pickering's feelings about being branded a racist.
Pickering, a federal judge who was nominated by President Bush to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, has been criticized by African-American organizations for his record on civil rights issues, including his decision to seek a lighter sentence for a convicted cross-burner.

At every opportunity we get, we should ask the Rascal Als and the Jesse Jacksons and all their complicit white race baiters that question.
I am damn sick and tired of their divide and conquer group identity politics, I tell you!
Perhaps they will get it, or perhaps they will be embarrassed off the stage. But either way, they have to be tossed on the ash heap of history.

including his decision to seek a lighter sentence for a convicted cross-burner.This is an out and out lie.
He did no such thing; he only sent a letter saying that since the person who actually DID the cross burning got off with NO SENTENCE because he confessed first, he thought the second boy, who did NOT set the cross on fire, shouldn't get such a harsh sentence.
He did NOT defend a cross burner.

so the Hispanic is opposed because of his unknown views, while Hispanic groups support him,
the woman is opposed because of her known views, while maybe 80% of Texans support her,
and the white guy is opposed because of racial politics, while local minority Dems support him.
I see some campaign ads here!

I wonder what they will say now that this guy has come out in support of him?
Will they say they still know best for black people?

When shall they become known for the color of their character? The actual quote is "...not judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

This a POINT the democracts are trying to make, it would not make any difference if Rev. King would come back from the dead and say Pickering is a good man, not a mean bone in his body and endorse him himself it would make no difference.

They have already said it:
But the decision could cost West, according to at least one black lawmaker who said the caucus head could lose his leadership role over the move.

"While I do not condemn and judge all white men and women to be staunch racists, I do believe many have racist tendencies and beliefs as evidenced by the racism instilled in our many institutions," he said. Racist statement. Period.
