So let me get this straight. I do agree that a teacher who pursues a political agenda on the taxpayer's dime should be sanctioned or fired. But the cop in question was ON DUTY and OUTSIDE HIS JURISDICTION when he did this. He was pursuing his own political agenda on the taxpayer dime in a manner that had nothing to do with his official duties. How is that different from what the teacher is doing here?
He was on break. his jurisdiction as a citizen includes taxfunded buildings in the political jurisdiction to which he pays taxes.
I have been at work all day, so I don't know if this reply is still relevant, but...
To answer your question: I don't know. I don't know if or how the local police regs differentiate between schoolhouses and donut shops. I wasn't saying the cop did something "right."
My reaction was to the content of the pic, and I have had similar experiences with teachers of his ilk, and so I was commenting on that.
The cop may have been out of line. If he was, his superiors certainly know about it now.
My point about the teacher wanting to talk about the cop instead of the way he is using the classroom was that it's a dodge. It would only be relevant if the cop had searched the teacher's home and then tried to use evidence he got against the teacher in court. Whether or not the cop was toeing the line of proper behavior has no bearing on the TRUTH of the contents of the photos and what that implies.
That being the case, the teacher complaining about the cop's behavior is like a teenager who gets caught with cigarettes and only wants to talk about how unjust it was that his mother violated the sanctity of his pants pockets when doing the laundry, when she was supposed to be at the grocery store.
Mr. Teacher, we'll deal with the question of the cop's behavior in good time. Right now, please explain what the hell you are trying to do with your class, "goddess"-damn it!
