Unlike the aspirin factory bomb, this bomb doesn't detract anyone from how ineffectual he is.

generated virtually no buzz

Bees are the only things that buzz by themselves. It usually takes liberal reporters, lots of them, hiding behind something going 'bzzz bzzz' to make something buzz.

I think they looked at this, concluded that Viagra Man was cleaning Clinton's clock, and decided that this wouldn't be such a good thing to draw attention to.

I would love to see the Clintons on some playing cards.

With a big X across the faces, indicating their status.

I'd play a marathon "Slap Jack" game with those cards.

the weekly square-offs on CBS' 60 Minutes between Bill Clinton and Bob Dole have generated virtually no buzz since they premiered in March

Why don't they give Clinton a line to snort first? Then, he'll have a buzz.

"...The president didn't want to be seen as anything less than patriotic and..."

Bologna, the ex-President has never concerned himself with being patriotic: there must be another reason. Here's my take on it: People can't stand to look at Clinton's bulbous nose and Dole is a toothless, inept, debater. I can't stand Clinton and Dole gets my vote as I plug my nose.

How sad is it that they are actually blaming daylight savings time for the low ratings.

Peggy Noonan, wrote this in "On Speaking Well" (Page 17).

"Clinton’s biggest problem as a speaker is that he rarely says anything that is intellectually interesting, that is genuinely deep and thoughtful. He has the intensity of a deep and thoughtful person without the depth of a deep and thoughtful person. It’s slightly disorienting for his listeners. They walk away saying, “That was good,” but if you ask them what he said they don’t know."

"But Hewitt notes that Daylight Saving Time always hurts 60 Minutes because it's light out at 7 p.m., meaning more viewers are still outdoors."

I'd say light is an issue here. But it is the light that has turned on for so many former viewers. The light that says the show is without fact or substance and full mostly of liberal spew. The ticking always got on my nerves anyway.

The war made it difficult

Excuses, excuses, excuses. Maybe, just maybe people are fed up with the lying, cheating Great Stainmaker & don't care, nor believe ANYTHING he says.

.....light is an issue here. But it is the light that has turned on for so many former viewers. The light that says the show is without fact or substance and full mostly of liberal spew.....

Clinton's 60 Minutes bomb is particularly schadenfreudish since producer Don Hewitt gave airtime to the conniving Clintons as prez candidates where they lied and lied and lied.

The despicable Hewitt wrote his bio 15 years later and admitted he know the Clintons were lying but put them on anyway. This gave them a platform for their road to the WH.

Hewitt is one of the ones to blame for thrusting the conniving Clintons onto an unsuspecting public.

When will this dork Clinton realize we want him out of our lives and out of the public spotlight?

Watch Clinton-Dole or
watch paint dry...

decisions, decisions

You know, when it dries it changes every so slightly the color.
Some types dry rather quickly. Latex, for example dries in minutes. Enamel takes much longer. Latex is a waterbased paint. Enamel is usually oil based.

[Probably the guy who conceived the Clinton-Dole seg was the same guy who thought resurrecting Donahue was a brilliant idea.]

You sweet talker, you. ;) Bears repeating:
Clinton bombed. No one wants to watch him. No one wants to hear his voice. Everyone wishes he would go away and shut up.
Even his party wishes he'd go away.
