She is, truly, an idealist and not very realistic. So she defends them on the grounds of their idealism. As I said, she is profoundly wrong, and perhaps not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but there is nothing immoral about that.

If they are in the WWII or Korean war generation, I always give them a pass. Especially if they don't have the internet or cable.

My sister and her inlaws are very liberal, and very moral. They were extremely disgusted by Clinton and did not defend him.
